Collection: Perches

Offered for sale is an antique hand-colored engraving from Ichthyology, Fishes of the Perch Family edited by Sir William Jardine and published between 1841 and 1843. 

The illustrations for Perches were created by James Hope Stewart, a Scottish natural history artist. Stewart was known for his detailed and vibrant watercolors, brought life to Jardine's The Naturalist's Library series. Stewart's artistry played a significant role in making Jardine's publications visually captivating and scientifically valuable.
